We started the American Film Association because we believe in the power of film and the power of getting everyone in one room. After talking to people across every corner of the industry, one thing kept coming up: it is important to preserve stories and make sure the next generation has the tools to tell them.
We noticed there are so many amazing leaders in this industry whose wisdom and experience deserve to be passed on. The AFA exists to bring them together so their stories and their insight can guide the next generation of filmmakers. We want to be a stamp in the industry, a home for the people who believe movies should not only entertain but leave a lasting imprint on the people who watch them.
We believe in movies. We believe in the power of friends and community. And we believe that when the right people are in the room, the future of film takes care of itself.
